The benefits of being in nature
The nine ethos of Medicine Box, where all things are medicine and cannabis is the medium that weaves it all together. When combined synergistically with this ethos, Medicine Box is stewarding an evolving entourage effect of a lifestyle. It is every human's right to live a happy and healthy life while exploring their own consciousness.
The month of May is dedicated to nature as medicine. Last week we went on an exploratory adventure with the birds and the bees. This week we will explore the simple benefits of just being in nature. Our natural surroundings have the potential to pull us into the moment and remind us to be mindful. With the mindless daily distractions of social media, our busy agendas, and our sometimes thoughtless consumption, we are too easily pulled from just being in the moment. Nature is your medicinal remedy for this.
A natural medicine
While I write this I am staring over a canopy of Douglas fir trees into the myriad of the deep blues of Lake Tahoe. It is surrounded by snow-capped mountains that appear to be rising from the crystal clear depths like entryway pillars.
See, that description just pulled you into the moment of the wonderment nature provides. The simple, yet chaotic architecture of nature’s design is like staring at a painter’s canvas: interpret it as you wish, for it is there to soothe you. It is your teacher constantly guiding you into a present state of natural, medicinal reflection.
Much of the early conceptualization of Medicine Box was created during moments like that. I am fortunate to be able to take what I call “inspirational walks” into the woods with ease as I am surrounded by nature. Many people who are seeking a healthier and happier way of life don’t have that daily luxury. If you don’t, try and find a quiet green space or a tree to climb. Make time to go to nature and let its simple yet chaotic formulation inspire you to live a happier and healthier life.
